Imagine a dusty burner, lost on Black Rock City roads... suddenly they stumble upon Ashram's oasis where their cup is refilled, smiles are exchanged, and they draw a winning ticket to make one of their life's wishes come true...

The Management of The Grand Hotel at Ashram Galactica —

Burning Man's first and only five-star hotel on playa —

invites you to become a Wish Wizard —

a trusted member of our esteemed concierge team!

When you join us, we will work together to grant wishes nightly.

You are hereby invited to request a VOLUNTEER concierge shift.

This is in addition to your two “regular” required shifts during the week. (e.g. bike valet, kitchen, etc…)

(NOTE: A concurrent bar shift is not permitted on the same night as a concierge shift.)

How It Works: Our camp has four luxurious hotel rooms that we raffle off nightly.

Each room includes full room service for the winners and whomever they choose.

As concierge staff, it’s our goal to give our guests the night of their lives, in the most playful way possible by granting one wish.

You can come up with new ways to delight them, such as checking their emotional baggage at the "door" (tent flap), dust off guest clothing, creating sunrise experiences, and more...

We have several props to make it fun.

What You Do: Start your shift by checking in at the concierge tent at 7:30pm with the lead concierge of the night, where we will provide you with a tuxedo or dress.

Retrieve and don your outfit.

Greet burners as they wander into camp and impress them with 5-star quick wit and seductive smiles.

Display our rooms, explain the raffle, hand out raffle tickets and encourage guests to enjoy a drink at the bar.

You’re encouraged to get into 5-star character and to make it fun for yourself and the guests.

The Magic Begins: After we draw the winning numbers, the real fun starts.

One lucky guest is selected for each of our four hotel rooms.

Our concierge team springs into action by welcoming guests into their new rooms.

We take note of guest preferences and allergies, and then offer our new guests champagne and charcuterie.

Our bar team prepares cocktails on request as we prepare our guests to brainstorm what their one wish will be.

We co-create an unforgettable memory.

Hi! We're Frost and Cake!

FROST & CAKE

It's Frost's 7th burn, and Cake's 3rd.

We live in Illinois, but Frost grew up in Arizona and went to school in Boston before serving in the military. Cake grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and spent 9 years in Brooklyn.

Last year we helped grant a wish to assemble a sunrise wedding with help from our crew including Everything (Andrew), Carb (Jason Fang), Just Dave, Arath, and many others from our camp. We worked through the night until 5am, rounded up outfits (including a furious bike ride that ripped the seat of Frost's tuxedo pants wide open at 2am while dashing across the desert to find a wedding dress), an officiant, a professional photographer, fire dancer, DJ, art car, and more.

To say the least, Concierge was a blast. Frost was previously mentored by a 40-year senior concierge from the Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown (DC) about how to deliver exceptional guest service under the Isador Sharp "golden rule" philosophy, and is a fan of the book "Unreasonable Hospitality" by Will Guidara. Cake handles inventory management for Amazon Fresh (groceries) -- so together we have a love for great food, great guest experiences, and delivering just in time to make wishes come true.

We'd love to help you bring your natural talents to playa -- even if you've never served in a guest services or concierge role before.

We're looking for open minded people who are ready to embrace the concept of exceeding our guests expectations. Imagine lost jaded burners who stumble onto our camp, draw a ticket, and find themselves at the center of our attention to elevate their celebration of life on playa in whatever way makes the most sense to them. Or they could be like the couple we helped, who dated for ten years and decided to get married through Ashram.

Whoever our guests might be, we're excited to change their perspective after an evening of Ashram's exceptional service and hospitality. If that sounds like a great time, we'll help you create memories that you and our guests will carry with them forever.

Only if you want to join our team. Join us on Tuesday or Wednesday evening to learn about our philosophy.
